Really, I have three kids. Xanadu is 12-1/2, Trooper is 4-1/2 and Finley will be 2 in two weeks. My three boys have a great time together. Finley can be a bit rambunctious for Xan’s liking, but since he is the first to give him a cookie every morning, Xan tolerates him. Trooper understands that Xan is sick and he has been wonderful – the other day, he sat next to Xan and said, “Don’t worry, Xanadu. It will be okay.”
The amputation is tomorrow. I am going to believe my son – everything is going to be okay.
Hi Sweet Xanadu:)
Mom I know exactly how you feel, I was reading your blog thinking to myself, yup I’m like that, I felt that that way etc. Xanadu knows how much you love him and he knows you have faith in him.
I thought I was going to break down and just be a wreck when I went to pick up my Rudy after his amp. surgery (Jan. 26, 2011). More of a wreck than I had been anyway! But I have to tell you when I walked in and saw him, we locked eyes. He had a drug induced smile and little bit of wag in his tail. I knew at that moment what I had to do. I had to be strong for us both. It hasn’t been easy but he has taught me so much about having faith and thinking positive. Us humans think everything through way to much, they just do what they need to do and move on!
We’ll be thinking of you and Xanadu tomorrow, sending positive energy:)
What a sweet picture – Xanadu cuddled up with his boys. We will be thinking about Xanadu tomorrow. You guys have been through a lot together already. I hope Xan will have many happy, pain-free days to spend with his family following his surgery .
